Blast from the Past
I feel like a real teacher right now, as I'm filling in for another teacher on paternity leave for a few weeks. One of my students, a freshman, has a very unusual name, but it sounded familiar. I remembered teaching a second grade class — for one day — many years ago with a student by that name. So I asked her today if she'd ever attended that elementary school. Yup! Sure enough, that second grade kid who used to sing the Jigglypuff song from Pokémon (to which I would pretend to get angry about before faking falling asleep) grew up into a charming and sophisticated young woman. I don't get that sort of time-flies moment often enough...
